Description

The Health Communication minor allows students pursuing health-related degrees (e.g., nursing, public health) to develop communication skills specific to health and health care contexts. Students can gain coursework in communicating about health in interpersonal and health care contexts, as well as coursework in processing and effects of various types of health messages, including those occurring via new media technologies. This minor can complement numerous health-related degrees and help students develop critically important health communication skills.

Admission Requirements

Admission to a minor is open to students enrolled in a bachelor’s degree, the A.A.B. or A.A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree (not Individualized Program major). Students enrolled only in the A.A. or A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree in Individualized Program may not declare a minor. Students may not pursue a minor and a major in the same discipline.
