Interpersonal Communication - Minor
School of Communication Studies
201 Taylor Hall
The interpersonal communication minor serves students interested in improving their interpersonal communication skills and knowledge in personal or professional communication settings.
The coursework allows students to investigate communication in families, personal relationships and across the life span. Because not all interpersonal communication happens face-to-face, students also have the opportunity to learn about the role of the Internet, social networking sites, text messaging and other new media forms in the interpersonal communication process.
The Interpersonal Communication minor may benefit students interested in sales, human resources, counseling or teaching.
Fully Offered At:
- Kent Campus
- Stark Campus
Admission to a minor is open to students declared in a bachelor’s degree, the A.A.B. or A.A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree (not Individualized Program major). Students declared only in the A.A. or A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree in Individualized Program may not declare a minor. Students may not pursue a minor and a major in the same discipline.
To declare the Interpersonal Communication minor, students must have a minimum 2.000 overall Kent State University GPA. No Kent State University GPA is required if the student is a first-semester freshman or transfer student admitted in good standing.
