The Associate of Technical Study degree, Individualized Program, is open to students who need a specially designed course of study in a technical field. The program consists of courses offered at the students' campus that suit the students' career goals. Course requirements are planned with the help of a faculty advisor and must be approved by the dean of the Regional College.

Admission Requirements

The university affirmatively strives to provide educational opportunities and access to students with varied backgrounds, those with special talents and adult students who graduated from high school three or more years ago.

Kent State campuses at Ashtabula, East Liverpool, Geauga, Salem, Stark, Trumbull and Tuscarawas, and the Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg, have open enrollment admission for students who hold a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • Minimum 32 credit hours must be completed after the approval of the written degree program proposal.
  • The A.T.S. degree may be conferred as a concurrent degree or after receiving a prior degree. Minimum 24 credit hours of coursework must be completed after approval of the program, and the program must include a minimum of 24 credit hours of work in addition to the prior or concurrent degree.
