Large-Scale Revision to Course Subjects (SRM to RPTM)
This action is to change course subjects for several Sport and Recreation Management (SRM) courses to Recreation, Park and Tourism Management (RPTM). Both program areas are housed in the School of Foundations, Leadership and Administration (FLA) within the College of Education, Health and Human Services (EH).
The M.A. Sport and Recreation Management (SRM) major has submitted a proposal to remove the RECREATION component of their major and change the name to Sport Administration (SPAD). As a result of this change, most of the SRM courses are being revised to change the subject to SPAD. However, 9 SRM courses are used by the M.S. Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) major, associated partly with the Recreation, Park and Tourism Management (RPTM) program area. These courses have nothing to do with sport administration and are not included in the SPAD subject revision. Instead, their subject codes should be changed to RPTM. These 9 courses are taught by RPTM instructors.
The following course subjects should change from SRM to RPTM, effective when the SPAD changes go into effect.
SRM 56000 - TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AND RECREATIONAL TRAVEL
SRM 56001 - PRINCIPLES AND METHODS OF COMMUNITY INCLUSION
SRM 56030 - DYNAMICS OF LEISURE BEHAVIOR
