The Jazz Studies minor program provides instruction in performance, composition and arranging. Prospective Jazz Studies minors must audition in voice or on an instrument for acceptance into the program. Audition information can be obtained by visiting School of Music website.

Admission to a minor is open to students enrolled in a bachelor’s degree, the A.A.B. or A.A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree (not Individualized Program major). Students enrolled only in the A.A. or A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree in Individualized Program may not declare a minor. Students may not pursue a minor and a major in the same discipline.

A half jazz recital or approved equivalent is required to complete the program. Registration in MUS 36011 is required during the jazz recital semester.
Advanced pianists replace with MUS 48598.
