About This Program
The Dance minor provides students with an understanding of dance through its contemporary applications.
Students are eligible to begin in level 1 dance courses without auditioning. Students may audition for higher-level placement.

Admission Requirements
Admission to a minor is open to students declared in a bachelor’s degree, the A.A.B. or A.A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree (not Individualized Program major). Students declared only in the A.A. or A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree in Individualized Program may not declare a minor. Students may not pursue a minor and a major in the same discipline.
Program Learning Outcomes
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Students will articulate and communicate knowledge regarding the physiological and kinesthetic articulations within Dance.
- Students will articulate and communicate an understanding of Dance aesthetics and the elements of dance utilized in the craft of choreography.
- Students will be able to perform positions and movement phrases in one or more Dance genres.
- Students will articulate appropriate dance terminology and vocabulary.
