Description

The Event Planning minor prepares students to assume leadership roles within the industry. Through innovation, research, knowledge dissemination and the enhancement of educational and practical opportunities, this program affords students the opportunity to enroll in a variety of courses across disciplines to procure knowledge and practical skills pertaining to the process of event planning.

Admission Requirements

Admission to a minor is open to students enrolled in a bachelor’s degree, the A.A.B. or A.A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree (not Individualized Program major). Students enrolled only in the A.A. or A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree in Individualized Program may not declare a minor. Students may not pursue a minor and a major in the same discipline.

Students NOT enrolled in the Hospitality Management, Sport Administration or Recreation, Park and Tourism major, or one of their related minors, must select at least one course from each of the three categories.

Students enrolled in the Hospitality Management, Sport Administration or Recreation, Park and Tourism major, or one of their related minors, must select one course from each of the two categories that are not in their major or minor. For these students the remaining coursework may be selected from any of the three categories or consist of an approved elective. 

Student should see a faculty advisor concerning course prerequisites and fees.
