About This Program
The Health Services Administration minor is intended for students that have a strong interest in concepts related to the management, ethics and practice of the administration of health services. Students complete a series of specific courses designed to enhance their knowledge in the area of health services, as well as courses geared for professional practice.
The minor will augment students' study in a variety of majors including, but not limited to, business, communications, nursing, psychology, sociology, public health and health and human services.

Admission Requirements
Admission to a minor is open to students declared in a bachelor’s degree, the A.A.B. or A.A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree (not Individualized Program major). Students declared only in the A.A. or A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree in Individualized Program may not declare a minor. Students may not pursue a minor and a major in the same discipline.
Program Learning Outcomes
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Describe the major components of the U.S. healthcare system, including key stakeholders, funding mechanisms and service delivery models.
- Summarize basic leadership and management principles used in public health and health services organizations.
- Explain the development of public health policies and how they influence health services administration.
- Apply a basic ethical framework of public health and health care administration.
