This course will examine a body of literature, (recent seminal works of impact in early childhood), which encompass a few of the pervasive dilemmas and debates shaping the early childhood field in the U.S. today (with a global international backdrop). International perspectives on issues will be liberally juxtaposed in conjunction with U.S. issues, and overall this course will address how educators have and can structure their practice with various communities to support young children, families, and society.
