After completion of this course students should have an understanding of how cells of the nervous system work, how these cells interact with homeostatic systems important to the regulation of peripheral physiology and behavior, and the basic neuroanatomy of these regulatory systems, including major neurotransmitter and neuroendocrine systems. After completion of this course students should have an understanding of how cells of the nervous system work, how these cells interact with homeostatic systems important to the regulation of peripheral physiology and behavior, and the basic neuroanatomy of these regulatory systems, including major neurotransmitter and neuroendocrine systems. Upon completion of this course, students should be prepared for advanced neuroscience coursework.
